A7s to Shogun / 7Q+ hdmi cable for gimbal work

I'm starting to really lose it here with signal cutting out. Even with full to full via lockport adaptor, the signal staying is a 50/50 chance.

Can anybody recommend exactly how I can go about figuring out where exactly this is coming from... ie... is my shogun hdmi in port damaged? is my a7s micro hdmi out damaged? Are all my cables somehow damaged? is the lockport poor and unable to work as intended?

I'm really not sure the first step to figuring out the issue. Picked up the Ronin-M and a7s/shogun on it is so very, very light and a dream to operate compared to the full version, but it keeps dropping signal and driving me nuts!

Anybody have some suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I bet it's your Shogun. I had this problem a ton with my first one-- confirmed it by trying with another camera and of course multiple cables. My 2nd one did not have this problem, but it did have an obnoxious waveform cycling and frame dropping issue. I'm on the 3rd one and haven't seen any problems yet. But I've got very little faith in Atomos at this point.

To be fair, if the unit worked properly I'd still take it over a 7Q+ based on resolution alone which is important to me for critical focus.

I've switched over to the Hyper Thin cables and they are proving to be extremely reliable. Testing the shogun via another camera and not the a7s on regular cables was fine. Testing the a7s with smashed 502 had some issues.

I hope HDMI is replaced with something reliable soon. A mini SDI would be awesome everywhere.
