A7S PicPro Settings

Slog-2 is actually pretty noisy, i guess that's the price to pay for a better dynamic range

So, if you shoot with a different PP you can get a cleaner image then S-log2? But then at that point I assume you get less range to play with.
Most of my interest in this camera is because of the S-log2, I need a good solution as my work requires quite a lot of CC/grading.

If you expose as Sony says you should expose, it is noisy. I overexpose by one stop WRT what the camera says (i.e. I treat ISO 3200 as if it was ISO 1600) and it's pretty much fine.

wide dr or wide pf

wide dr or wide pf

hello everybody

we start to a a7s as b-cam, whereas we film in wide dr or wide pf (see below) normally on our c100.
for our use these two profiles produced nice results without the need of doing a lot of grading.

do you know what settings on the a7s might match to this?
has there somebody tried to make corresponding picture profile?

thanks a lot, roman

This thread seems mostly expired but I just discovered it and as a new A7S user, I am still deep into trying to figure out how to get pleasing colors out of this camera.

So here's a quick still life test I just did in order to test various LUTs and grading approaches for footage that was shot in kholi pic pro: https://vimeo.com/118833828

One thing I took from this test is to dial down saturation a bit when using kholi pic pro, maybe from +8 to +4, at least when the frame includes saturated colors. You can see how the red blanket gets blown out in a number of these corrections.
