You guys are free to use the thread to post settings, just going to drop these here:

Slog2 PicPro

Black Level: 0
Gamma Slog: 2

Black Gamma > Range: Middle , Level: -3
Knee > Mode: Auto , Auto Set > Max Point: 95 , Sensitivity: Mid
Colore Mode: Pro
Saturation: +8
Color Phase -2
Color Depth > R+1, G-1, B+2,, C-2, M-1, Y-3
Detail > Level, -5 Adjust > Mode; Manual, V/H Balance: -2, B/W Balance Type3, Limit: 0, Crispening:0, hi_light Detail: 0

White balance > Manual > Grid setting B 1 (one to the left)

3000-3600 = Tungsten
5000 - 5600 = Daylight
6100 - 7000 = late day or shade/shaded interiors in daylight

In Resolve, a good way to start's switching to LOG panel, setting LOW RANGE to .525 and HIGH RANGE to .800. Use Shadow, Mid, Highlight to build the curve then LGG to adjust contrast.

With this specific PicPro it adds a bit more fine control.

Better to use a Sat curve versus global saturation but that's just my preference.

Thanks Kholi~ Excited to try these and other user picture profiles over the next couple of weeks!
It would be nice to use this thread as a place to experiment and talk about everything concerning color settings

Quick test with Kholi's PP. Liking where it goes. Want to try out on some skin tones next.

I'm done for the day X_x you guys let me know what you get out of those, and of course please post some for me to try as well.

Kholi, both of these look fantastic and I'll test them out as soon as I get a chance. Once side question for everybody here. How's your WB presets settings looking? Seem my daylight, shade, cloudy....everything is overly warm and very orange. Auto WB seems to default on the greenish side as well and the only consistent performer for me indoors is the underwater Auto setting. Seems almost backwards or contrary to the good things I've heard about the WB on this camera. Outside, it did a pretty good job but indoors, it's a been a mess. If it was balanced improperly from a factory level, is there a fix other than manually dialing in?

Let me know what you get out of them.

I'm manually dialing my wb now, with those values listed in the settings.

It's also stuck on B1 in the grid, seems to workout well with the PicPro settings I'm using.

I should try the underwater auto as well to see what happens.

I do think Auto WB's pretty good, and Auto ISO as well. But, the AWB might really want to be used with a specific PicPro?

"I do think Auto WB's pretty good, and Auto ISO as well. But, the AWB might really want to be used with a specific PicPro?"

Sorry, I should have clarified. AWB for stills and just getting a feel for what it should be. I don't use Auto anything when I shoot generally or else I pay for it in post :) Still, my presets that usually I find pretty decent seem overly warmed up....too much yellow/green/orange. Seemed strange. Oh well, maybe it's my screen. I need to actually test the accuracy of the LCD vs. my display and see how much they disagree.

A few quick grades from PicPro2. Chasing my boys around the house=mayhem. I find I need to expose a little less hot as it seems to boost noise levels a bit plus this grade is totally outside of my comfort zone (good thing). I'd probably back off the color and I crushed a bit too hard I think. kholi test 2_1.32.3.jpgkholi test 3_1.33.2.jpgkholi test 4_1.34.1.jpgkholi test_1.35.1.jpg

@ cyork, is that PP2 with all the settings set to default? Or did you tweak them?

Doesn't seem as contrasty as the default setting makes it.

Ssvet, that is Kholi's PicPro2 with my grade on top. It's definitely flatter to begin with.

Na, I always crush the kids, don't want them looking like an insurance commercial.

=P I should have also mentioned that my bread and butter is in ad land (beauty/hair), THAT is also why I go poppy.

One thing about the camera... seems to do really well (maybe too well) with separation. Film COnvert or Impulz seems great.

I think the stills look fine! Especially as we're all trying to figure it out.

Need to figure out how to split the difference between Dave Dugdale's PP4 and Kholi's Picpro 2 profiles. Dave's has a bit more headroom in the highlights and a bit more depth in shadows, though the contrast is less the highlights and debatably a lesser "filmic" crush of the shadows. Kholi's skin tones appear to be more accurate on the scopes just. by. a. hair. I like the look of both and either one will get you a great image. Next test will be looking at each profiles color handling of certain primaries but, that can go out the window a bit if a LUT is going to be used. Kholi's SLOG is great but I still need to test against the stock a bit more which uses SGamut instead of Pro. No doubt, I'll be shooting slog2 wherever I can. I produces the best range and tones at the expense of a little noise....and I mean a little grain when I say. (that which I think looks great actually).
