A7RII // 42MP = More Dust Detail?

Anyone running into crazy dust detail on the A7RII for 4K or 1080p?

Right out of the box I had a few stubborn pieces of dust that needed 16 swabs to get rid of. I'm thinking the 42MP is just too fine and will therefore make dust appear more easily.

Sorry to hear that. I am considering the A7RII, and mounting it on a 4x5 view camera, but the dust exposure is a huge concern. I had heard that there was a dust removal function (use IBIS function to 'shake' it off?), I'm guessing that was useless?

It took 16 swabs to remove it. I used 2 first. Then used 2 more. Then I realized this dust is too tough to get rid of. Then I bought 12 more swabs and used each of the 12 in continuous succession. The 16th swab did the trick.

Prior to this I tried the built-in sensor cleaning function and that didn't work. I used it a few times in between the first four swabs actually.

I also had the lenspen sensor clear kit. The maginification loupe didn't reveal anything, the dust wasn't visible period.

But the 16 swabs worked (12 in succession)!

The dust was so bad that it was visible between F7 to F22.
