A1 Power problem

I've had two A1's go into repair due to failing power systems (camera just died). Has anyone experienced this?
 
Not on my A1, but did have that problem on my HV10. That's only a very thin thread of correlation, but it does happen.

I know from experience working for a high tech manufacturing company that hardware is designed so that if it will fail, it will fail early in it's life cycle when it's under warranty. You might take some solace in that and you should get your A1 back from Canon in about a week.
