Well I just got the A1 here at my work.
I've been shooting for the last year with a Sony VX2100 and I guess I got used to the look of it. First thing I noticed is how soft these Canon shots are. maybe a little out of focus, I don't know. I feel like everything is washed out. Maybe it's just my exposure though. The colors look a lot more vibrant on the LCD when I'm shooting then they do on my computer LCD monitor when I'm capturing/playing back. I'm still in the testing phase with this thing.
I've got my camera set to -3 gain and my knee set to low. 30f at 1/60th. All manual everything else.
So what do I do with my footage once I capture it in Vegas 7?
Do I have to convert it to a different format before I edit it?
Does Vegas 7 automatically adjust for the 30f and 24f settings?
What about After Effects 7, will it natively recognize this footage?
I also notice my computer is having a hard time playing this footage back. My system specs should be good enough. I have a dual core Athlon 3600 64 with 4gig of DDR2 and 3 physical hard drives on Vista business. But it's sluggishly playing the video back on the Vegas 7 timeline.
