A1 and the Redrock M2

Hey guys. Gotta quick question....and I think I know exactly who can answer it.

Who has this combo that has gotten it to work. We have the HD achromat and I just can't seem to get a sharp enough focus when I zoom the camera pass the motor and edges of the adapter.

What are we doing wrong? If you can explain your set up IN DETAIL, possible some pics from the side, that would help us out TREMENDOUSLY.

Thanks....ncje.....oops, dammit I gave it away.

Hi posted this on DV info also, actually Henry Cho had the good originally on this. Sorry no pics atm.

I have the M2 on an A1 and you can indeed get focus on the gg at the required zoom. I was also in your position and thought perhaps a spacer was needed.

Ok this is much easier to do on a HD monitor but I have also tried it on the LCD and it worked.

FYI I am sliding my m2 all the way hard against the achromat itself. OK so as per the manual zoom in so in your frame you can see the semi circle of the gg filling your frame.

Then get a hard source light point your rig at it then move it off centre left or right until you have some shadows appearing on the opposite side in your frame. Make sure your gg is switched OFF. At this point you should be able to get good focus on the GG.

Then zoom just a little and repull your focus, and repeat until your vignetting is gone.

Henry actually came up with this method and it worked perfectly for me.

Sorry. Haven't yet. Been busy this week. I have a "day" job and I'm a father of a 2 1/2 year old. M2 testing has taken a back seat, but plan on testing today or tomorrow.

Thanks for asking!

That's it, just one? Rookie!

lol, j/k man....

Post some footage when you get some.... I'm up in the air on the adapter with this camera.

Well it better work! I haven't managed to get a lens yet, but we do have our M2 and the follow focus from RedRock with our A1, so hopefully soon we'll be able to get some footage up as well. Got a lot of manual reading to do first though.

:)
