A Walk in the Dark

"A Walk in the Dark" will be a 15min short shot with the HVX (no lens adapter)

We are close to a first draft and about to get into looping. We still need to shoot one scene, with just four setups but the short is coming together nicely.

Here is a still of the only interior shot in the whole film. It wasn't approved by the Director but it helps establish an important relationship so it will most likely make it.

I lit that myself, so I wanted to share it. :)

I've always been a bad speller so please point out the misspelling to me... I typed the name of the paper and the main headline into Gmail and they are spelled correctly... what word are you talking about?

really? oh.. well I wasn't in charge of it but that kinda sux... few people will catch it... I hope

gotta yell at someone now... but I think I'll have to keep the shot... it is a quick POV of Michelle as she slows her walk to catch a glipmse of the latest about a serial killer that has the town on edge... a steady walking right... not long... but that is the main text... what we are trying to get people to read... bummer :)

thanks for the heads up

You weren't in charge of it, but you wrote the email containing the text?

New headline - "DP Looses Sense Of Blame"

BTW - I know that guy with the beard, but im not sure where from. I swear I've seen him around Burbank. What's his name?

:)

yo uslatincontent you were the DP on this? how much would it cost to get another paper printed because maybe you can some how insert a closeup of another shot with the correct spelling?

any footage to show of the short yet?

a coupla of the screenshots looked a little dark to me, but what lighting setup are you using? also what audio equipment are you using for your exterior shots?

Sorry guys... but I was nor the DP or the guy who wrote the e-mail... literally... I had nothing to do with it... (that's probably why it went wrong) lol... :)

The paper is too expensive to re-print... I am the editor however, so I made sure the shot has other stuff going on and it isn't too long... we'll see if it makes the final cut though... there are two other papers, but this was the one that was photographed best, we were lucky enough that the director decided to go get his steady, and the swipe with it's reversal swipe look great... we'll see what makes the final...

I am sad to say that I didn't have proper wind protection for the first day... but my final (and limited) location audio setup is as follows:

Oktava MK-012 + K-Tek Zeppelin > 9ft. boom > MixPre > HVX

The looping setup adds a sound booth made out of my girlfriend's walk in closet with three moversupplies producer choice moving blankers (sounds nice), and a Tascam US-122 which converts at 24/96...

My shotgun is a Rode NTG-1 which I didn't use at all...

Needless to say... I am looping 100% of it and going I-N-S-A-N-E... for the next I will get an AT4073... I hope...

that guy is Richard Speight who Michelle knows from working on Jericho

I have a rough draft but I am not ready to show anything yet... sorry... working on it though
