"A Verse Before Dying" - AF-100 Western Short

Go to sleep, Iñaki. I'm sure Timur will chime in on the use of DRS. I would try to answer for him, but would probably get it wrong as to what exact settings were used.

Hehehe enjoy the editing! it's ok, the answer can wait, all the crew deserves some rest before answering any question....... have fun!

I've decided not to go to sleep tonight. Can't miss the first view of the trailer... teaser... anything.

you have my full attention.

and what's this i read about someone seeing a teaser snippet? Favoritism much? :P

that's right.. a little cyber jealousy going on here.

If you check out my "cast" images post on page one, you'll notice that Ben Wolfe is one of our cast members. And I think his work on this film more than justified an "early/advanced viewing" of the trailer.

As for you, Papa…you'll just have to wait like everyone else. :D

what do you guys think of the DRS mode in this camera? did it perform well? did the image lose too much quality?
Timur used DRS 1 on most of the exterior shots, and used DRS 2 on the sunset shot. I am hesitant to recommend anything above DRS 1, and I think DRS 1 should be reserved for shots that really need it. Direct daylight is perhaps a place where you'd need it. I guess tomorrow you'll be able to decide if you thought it performed well; I was surprised at how good it looks on the exterior DRS 1 shots. DRS 2 is a bit noisy for my taste.

Sorry...didn't mean to cause any jealousy. His note said "show no one", not "tell no one"...and I got a little excited. If I had a smiley face with hands clapping, jumping up and down like a little school girl, I'd put it here. But this will have to do.

:2vrolijk_08:

Look at Ben's headshot again, and then imagine that "jumping up and down like a little school girl" thing... it'll cause you to seek therapy.

DRS1

Its a highlight compression, and subtle black lifter. When you are shooting outdoors at a lower ISO; because of the grain less nature of the image, the artifacts that would normally appear, do not. I would not use DRS at all past iso 200.

The effect is just as it says, you get an additional 1 stop up top, and a half stop added to the bottom.

Stephen has given me permission to upload the rough-cut of the trailer to the dvxuser server and post for you guys... here ya go:

Man, i have been going at this link for a good.. hour and 32 minutes now without success. I just keep getting what sounds like maybe part of the sound track but then it instantly stops playing after a second.

No worries guys. I will keep trying to find the bottom of this link and report back within the next few hours.

you guys are awesome for pulling this off, and this whole thing illustrates one advantage of the af100-the amazing power of dvxuser behind it.
