What kind of signal comes out of the a/v output? Is is 480p SD? Could it be recorded into a DVR or SD capture deck?

Sure, you can record/capture GH2 audio & composite SD video playback, and its live composite SD preview video, to external devices.

Refer to pages 157 & 162 in the DMC-GH2 user manual:

However, recording the GH2's live HDMI video out does not appear to be supported, as documented in this l-o-n-g thread:

Thanks Peter, I'm at page 81 of manual, I was starting to glaze over, pretty boring read. I can find some uses for that SD output. Been following the HDMI thread, such a bummer....mostly about the audio for me.
