A truely stupid need... lens cap...

Ok... in my enthusiasm, I apparently managed to loose the Lumix 62mm lens cap...

Don't worry, the Wife will never let me live it down... there have been lost tripods, run over Luna Pros... stolen cameras... but my loss of the lens cap will be recorded indelibly in to the archives of time...

I didn't see anything like that under 'accessories' at the various sites.

Ebay had some Lunix lens caps, but none looked like the G series.

URL's appreciated...

just get yourself a generic 62mm lens cap?

take a drive down to your local camera franchise store and test fit?

You don't need a lens cap - you can't take a picture or a movie with the lens cap on anyways.

Of course you can take a picture or movie with the lens cap on... how else do you estimate 'dark noise' of your sensor... ok, 'dark noise' plus 'read out noise'...

Everyone does these sorts of things with their camera to calibrate things... don't they???

I agree with MR FANNY. Your original post answers your question....if you buy another expensive factory cap, you'll probably lose it again. You can get a generic from B&H or your local store for under $5.

However, Panny does have a replacement listed on their website...just do a parts search on the 14-140 lens...there's a link at the bottom/right...lke $10: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-...al-Camera-Accessories/Lenses/model.H-VS014140

(Not sure if that link works...Panny's website sux.)

I'd probably wait until you decide to sell the camera or lens, then buy a factory one, since it'll probably be like pulling teeth to get one right now from Panny.

This wierd website comes up with the correct P/N selling it at well: https://www.highdefinition.ch/produ...eader/Panasonic/Panasonic_VYF3250/285756.html

But I'm not even sure if that's the correct cap...there's no P/N descriptions on Panny's site.

Good luck!

I stand corrected, obviously you can indeed take a picture or a movie with the lens cap on...assuming a certain inclination to do so :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
