C100: A Simple Beauty-C100/Atomos Ninja2 Nature Film

Nothing to groundbreaking, just a video I shot using the C100/Ninja 2 combo. Just picked up a Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 IS lens and most of this is done using that. Also mostly shot using my WIDE_PF custom preset and some mild grading in post. The slo-mo water was shot at 1080 60i and conformed to 24p in post in FCPX 10.1.

Thanks guys, yes I still leave LCD on bright and recently went to the Zacuto hood instead of the hoodman. It's just easier and clearer to see the whole frame.

Once again, absolutely gorgeous footage Paul! I've been using your WIDE_PF profile for a number of months now and love it. Have you done any tweaks to it since you first released it? Do you do any tweaks to NR when using the Ninja?

Keep up the great work!

Thanks John, no I havent messed with my settings much at all. To be honest, it's just been working well and most times I'm too busy to think about it! I'm curious if adding more in camera NR when going to the Ninja would make much of a difference? Hmmm that's worth testing out...just need to find the time. When I do have some down time, I go out and shoot these scenics (I sell them for stockfootage but it's also my "therepy")!

Very cool! I told myself to get out and hike over the summer with my C100 and this convinced that this MUST happen!

Did you license your music?

Now this really makes me want a c100 so bad. I just don't see this natural organic look coming out of the gh4.

There is plenty of organics in the Gh4. I own both the gh4 and the C100 (and the BMC4K and the AX100). The C100 is a fine FINE camera. I love it to death. But the Gh4 is quite remarkable.

Great work there Paul.

Yes, the music is from audiojungle.net and the standard license covers it's use in something like this. Only $17, a very good deal for the quality of music they offer.

I havent used the GH4, but it sure looks promising. I always find its a matter of REALLY getting to know the camera, finding it's strengths and weaknesses and then shooting to play up the strengths and play down the weaknesses. It took me a while to on the C100 to get the look I wanted from it. Thanks for the kind words guys, glad you checked it out!
