A "Segway" a hacksaw and DUCT TAPE

Holy PooPoo!... I never thought of that. I'm going to be ordering a Segway for the golf course next year. If there were some way to modify the real-deal to go hands free I could use it with my Magiqcam....crazy!!!!

I couldn't find it on their site, but it looks like a highly modified Segway. The wheels on one of them are Segway.

Thanks for the link. I'll be looking into this. With a steadicam you could do some amazing long tracking shots....if needed, of course.

thanks,

jason

I haven't doen it with a rig (yet) but I have without, and I must say that that is a HECK of a lot of FUN!

It's *really* strange at first, like riding a bike, you feel ready to fall over, but it won't let you. Takes a few mins to get used to, but after that.. weeee!!

here's a clip I shot of Steadicam Operator Jerry Holway playing at IBC: http://mikko.n3.net/files/JerryHandsfreeIBC05.wmv

Wow, Mikko that's amazing. I can imagine somebody wanting me to follow them around on the golf course shooting footage. Maybe during a tour event or something. This has my head spinning.

wouldn't the segway eventually get in the way of complex shots?
how does it handle over rough terrain?
Battery life on the segway? easliy recharged off a car battery or small petro generator?

Still need concept, having a balanced mechanical platform along with the steadicam is interesting though who knows how practical... still it looks nifty..
