Have you been able to work out the relay option for the A1?

And is the price for the adapter and cage...or just for the supports?

Bits.

Bits.

The bits in this picture are the 2 spacers and 1 handle. Sorry for the rough discription. The spacers are a seperate piece from the end clamps also.

So on the left are 2 aluminum spacers that space the 15mm diameter rails 170 mm apart vertically and of course 60mm apart horizontally. There are 2 modular rail clamps 1 top and 1 bottom for each spacer and 2 clamps on the bottom of the handle so 6 clamps all together and 6 tension knobs, 6 black nylon washers, 6 1/4-20 hardened machine bolts, and of course the 2 large spacers. The handle consists of 6 small m4-70 pitch metric machine bolts that hold the handle firmly in place. 1 .040 wallthickness aluminum tube inner support handle. 2 aluminum 7/8 inch handle clamps, 1 nylon plastic and neoprene covered sure grip 13.5 cm handle and 2 aluminum triangle handle/rail clamps. Also included are 1- 6mm hex wrench and 1- 4mm hex wrench for any adjustment. This is the 325 usd photo. I'm getting way too many requests for the spacers and handle. Should I be charging more? lol

I'm finally ready to kick off a full product line including the adapter and rail assembly units. All the proper info will be on www.easom.com soon and I am looking forward to having banner ads here at dvxuser just like the big guys!

Oh! Once fitted, the handle and spacers may be un tensioned, adjusted and firmly re tensioned on the fly without and help from the hex wrenches.

All aluminum parts minus the inner hiden handle support are powder baked true black and not anodized or painted. I prefer the thexture of the powder baking we use to anodizing because I worked haI think anodizing is just too sheeny and paint of course is not an option....

A1 relay

A1 relay

Have you been able to work out the relay option for the A1?
Ummmmmmmm I don't think so. To speak un-technically, The adapter was successfully tested with Alberts (who is still MIA) XH-A1 using the Big honkin lens he had (that he didn't want scratched) straight through the Gynormous 75mm Glass condenser/achromat tripple element lens and we achieved phenomenal results but not by using a smaller intermediate relay lens on the A1. That is what you mean yes? It is something I will be looking into further.
And is the price for the adapter and cage...or just for the supports?

Ummmm Unfortunately for the consumer it is not the price for both, just the rail stuff. Fortunately for me it is not for both either... Or I would go broke very quickly but have a lot of new friends in the motion picture industry! lol

Believe me, I would give these away if I could.... I could probably give 1 or 2 away, here or there... Maybe I should take stories in like on Oprah or something and give one to some do gooder who is trying to save the planet or some orphan cats through the power of film on a zero budget. I save many orphan cats, so that would be a big plus. That would be really cool. Ummm.. To nominate someone please send stories to coryeasom@gmail.com with the subjet line: "Charity". Maybe these guys on the SmallHD website. http://www.smallhd.com/action.html who are using an hv20 looking camera could use a little extra help. I do wonder what their real story is?

Haha. I was just checking. I thought that figure was a little low to be for both. I'm still interested though.

I was just reading back through the thread and saw the post about the A1 relay and was wondering if that's really the direction you were going. I don't really want the relay option as I like the footage that you have with the glass in front of the lens.

What's the price on the adapter? Did I miss it?

did somebody say saving orphan kittens!!!??!?!

A few new captures.

A few new captures.

Finally got a mini dv handycam for scene aquisition as my DVX port has been burnt through the whole development. These are captured straight from mini dv through firewire. All my other captures were from s-video cable analog transfer and then firewired from sony. Anyway. Here are 4 frames. I will post some footage as well. Cory

looks pretty good. My only concern is the diffusion of the GG element. It seems to have a very hazy bokeh.

Just noticed this today.
this adapter looks like one I would love to puchase.
I hope this one is still alive...

Adapter and Cage

Adapter and Cage

AustinV and Everts...

Thanks for the interest. The adapter is still alive. It's now smaller. The option for full use of the Medium format image area is no more. It's 35mm all the way. Soon to be available with Nikon mount and later Canon. Of course spinning glass. The optical path will not include a flip prizm. My stance will not change on this. Quality before convenience. And other flip issues here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=174509

Quality up and cost down. Win, win. I prefer to shoot with the camera upside down, no post flipping. I will also be using the Easom reverse triplet condenser macro lens, putting the condensing properties closest to the video camera and away from the focusing screen. Surprisingly eliminating extra Chromatic Aberration usually associated with a seperate condenser near the focal plane while keeping all macro/vignette control optics away from the Ground Glass and eliminating dust visuals in end product. Also full XY adjustments and precision Backfocus adjustment built in.

I'm pleased with the technical finalities and am working on the aesthetics of the final design. That's where we're at. Pictures and footage to come.

The functionality of the cage design is complete and may be seen here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=168935

The good news: I've changed the design cosmetically a tad so I'm letting these go for 295 USD a set.
