GH3 A nice GH3 demo shot in the Middle East by Sparky Media Productions

Thanks guys for the positive comments, I use the MOV 1920 x 1080, 25p, 50 mbps codec. It holds up really well.
Best wishes, Sparky
Thanks for the response. I downloaded the short and watched on various TV's and I will report that your film looks great at 200 inches (Projected), 73 inches (DLP rear projected), and 60 inches (LED panel).

Very nice indeed! Great footage overall, even if I was hoping to see the camera move a bit more, what with all the footage floating out there with micro-jitter when the camera pans even very slowly. Still, great work!

Absolutely stunning subject and presentation Sparky. More excellent proof of what can be done with the GH3.

Thanks for sharing.

very clean.

I have zero problem seeing the difference between my own GH3 and GH2, and I can only conclude that most of the people writing that there is no significant improvement must not have both cameras to work with.

Wow... just wow for both video and the location! Beautiful. You say on Vimeo it's "sub-£1000", I'd love to know where I can get it for under a grand :D Cheapest I've found is £1,189. Planning to order mine this weekend :)

Looks beautiful, thanks for sharing

I completely agree with the earlier banding comments - I would expect to see a mess in the sky if shot with the GH2, none here.

A constructive comment - quite a bit of usable shadow detail is below Y' 16, this will not be seen on vimeo and be clipped on a Rec709 display . I don't know if it was intentionally clipped for artistic view, as you mentioned in the vimeo comments that you graded for a certain look. But if you wanted to demonstrate the "lowlight" capabilities, or even the dynamic range of the GH3 I would have pushed those up a bit

eg.

Beautiful location. You really have to download the original mp4 from Vimeo to see the footage. And even then, its a compressed file. Watching stuff straight off Vimeo feels like looking through wax paper to me.

I have the GH2 shooting a flavor of Driftwood, but it is very encouraging to see that Panasonic has really set the GH3 free to shoot great video right out of the box. It seems that most everyone that has the GH3 is really really satisfied with upgrading. I certainly would love the 1080p60 myself.
