A new short film!

Alright so some of you may have seen my short film "Spoon." We originally made it for a video class of mine, with no script at 1am, just messing around, and desperate to get something done. This is no different. No script, filmed at like 4am, just totally messing around/ running and gunning haha. We're making a whole little series of these spoon videos, they're fun.

haha, funny stuff man.

Some nice shots in there. You should be careful about your project settings. You either chose the wrong frame rate, or had an issue when you captured because there is something wrong with the pulldown ( hence the interlaced frames every now and then )

I'm thinking it's the compression, but I do believe the pulldown was messed up too. I shot in 24pa and captured in adobe premiere pro onto a 23.976fps timeline. Any info on what i was supposed to do?... here's another link to a smaller version, does this look better? thanks.

EDIT: Hmm it seems to have the same jaggies on the edges. Seeing as I shot in progressive, I shouldn't have to de-interlace it right?... Hmm. I don't know then. What pulldown should I have removed during the capture process? Any tips for capturing with premiere pro, fcp, or imovie? Thanks.

ahh...yeah i tried looking before i actually captured becuase it's been a while since i shot in 24pa, and i haven't used premiere to capture in like 3 years, so i got some mixed information, and assumed if i used the 23.976 capture settings and edited on a 23.976 timeline or whatever, then it would automatically remove the pulldown. I don't know, but I'll look into it again for next time. Thanks guys.

It's kinda crazy. The same thing happens when I edit in Premiere. It should be as simple as editing, rendering on a 23.976 timeline. My quick fix is to render the file again in After Effects. Comes out perfect then. Not sure why.

Hmm.. I'll give it a shot. If you figure it out, please shoot me a pm haha. I've been messing around and can't seem to figure it out. I think i'll just stick to fcp for now. Thanks .

Nice idea. But you really you need to sort out the interlacing of the footage--spoiled it for me.

Good effort though.

hey bro... Very simple fix i beleive,

i encountered the same problems sometimes when exporting an H.264 right? or some other quicktime. in Adobe preiemere (i use CS2) when exporting a quicktime you need to click the "De-Interlace" checkmark under Video in the export settings. this should remove all your quicktime interlace issues.. and yes this also applies to the 24pa footage as well.
