That's a mock up of a new design. It'll be awhile before we get to see a working unit. I'm very interested, though.

It does. I hope they just come out with a DVX100 with native 16:9.
I don't think people will want something that looks like that.

HI guys,

This picture is so old and depicts a mockup, not necessarily "the" mock-up but a mockup. It think this one used to say HDV on at one point, and SD at one point. It is only balsa wood. ;-)

YES, this thing needs to be burned. It looks like a Ray Gun from a Godzilla Movie! ...please let the new model not even come close to this disaster.

Since we can't trust their styling abilities maybe Panansonic could at least copy an ARRI or a Panavision or even the SDX ....anything but the Godzilla Death Ray Gun look.

Lens looks like it's made of Balsa Wood too ... Thank goodness this is just a mock up otherwise I would have to "mock" the lens ...

Man, I hope they trashed that mock up. Japanese may be into the cheezy look, but I think the rest of the world give this design a two thumbs down!!! :P

Jan, please tell Panasonic that we... and I think I speak for the entire world, minus Japan maybe... we don't want a cheezy looking camera. Most of us are professionals, and having such a device in hand won't make us look (and feel) good. I mean, come on, my 8 year old daughter has a more professional looking fisher price camera. :-[

..yeah. you could stick a lite brite on top of it for an on cam light and it wouldnt look too out of place. .. even with the extension cord plugged into the wall trailing behind you.

Am I the only one that's excited about it saying DVCPRO-HD on the side? I couldn't care less what it looks like, as long as it's images are great. P2 and DVCPRO-HD... mmm, mmm, good!

Hold on there a minute ... I thought we wanted to be sure to do something with the microphone ( Removable or pushed back ) etc ...

I would think that now is an excellent time to provide feedback ... Otherwise it is gets to be too late in the development/production process ...
