So we decided to do some testing of using gimbal with those popular self balancing two wheels mini scooter / hoverboard. Here's our review. Gimbals used Moza and came mini 2. Sorry for once in a while out of focus lol

you can now get those around $350 on Amazon

with heavier gimbals yes. Not necessarily needed with the mini or the single hand one

IMO, there's too much vertical camera movement when hand-held that is beyond mere shaking. Has anyone tried a monopod on something like this?

Interesting experiment. Obviously I can see how this scooter type device may seem like an attractive offer since it may minimize some of the vertical motion of walking with a gimbal.

My personal opinion (not saying it is the best opinion) I would feel like the chance for falling is increased, and that chance is not worth it for me.

With the segway adaptations, the gimbal is attached to the segway and loosing balance and dropping the camera is not really an issue. However, those are pricey! What I have done to minimize vertical motion is to mount my gimbal on my steadicam vest/arm. Now I can even speed-walk and light jog while minimizing most unwanted vertical motion. With a regular walk, no vertical motion unless I want it.

But I applaud them for being creative in solving a problem and I bet this will appeal to a good deal of folks. Primarily people with smaller rigs.

That was the same thought we have when we first saw it for sale and thought that we would fall but after 4 mins of trying it and a another 30mins of riding it and then 3hrs straight we have done so many fun things that we have less fear. Just like riding a bike. :)

one of my colleague already been moving chairs and tables while riding on it and yet to fall. :)

we we will be trying it more now that the Moza lite arrived :)
