A "loose" nikon adapter

I have discovered that when I attach a Nikon lens to the adapter, there seems to be a fair amount of give. The lens seems to be able to shift ever so slightly to the left and right when you grip it with your hand.

I have uploaded a video that is a direct (enough) output from my GH1 with the Nikon adapter attached and a Nikon Series E 35mm lens latched on to illustrate my issue.

The clicking sound you hear is the lens moving back and forth.

Has anyone else experienced something like this yet with any micro 4/3 adapter? Is this how it is supposed to be? Is my best bet to just send back to vendor?

TIA,

I ordered an adapter from ebay and I experience the very same thing. Also, the back cap won't stick properly.

I guess it's just bad manufacturing. Paid about $95 for mine from Roxsen.

I'd like to know if the adapters from more well known brands, such as Novoflex and Cosina, are any better.

I don't have that adapter but I have the Panasonic 4/3 to µ4/3 adapter and it most definitely does not do that.

it seems its just a bad quality adapter, where did you you purchase it?

I purchased it here:

I've seem to have narrowed down the problem to the pin that locks in the lens being just a hair too short. I noticed that as I rotate the lens, just before its about to lock in, there is no wobble at all. Of course the lens cannot be used like this so that doesn't really matter.

However, once it locks in the pin doesn't seem to fit the cavity in the lens completely which causes the slight wobble.

I have sent an inquiry to the seller but have not heard back yet.

An update:

I was able to fix this without too much pain.

The seller replied with the information below:

"the fitting of the Nikon lens with the adapter can be adjusted... [see attached images]

be sure to do it bit by bit... and don't rush to adjust it too tight..."

my adapter now fits my lenses without any wobble and is quite snug.

Thanks for the update. I know its a couple years late but I just had the same problem and this fixed it, as well
