AC90: A little sad... No Barry Green book with my AC90.

I was really looking forward to reading Barry's AC90 book but alas, it doesn't seem to be included anymore in US sales of the AC90. I do however, have the DVX book Barry wrote. Can I use the DVD that came with the DVX book to get an idea of how to set scene file settings for "looks" from the AC90?
 
Did it come with a card that can be sent in for the book? Mine didn't have the book but it had the post card that could be mailed-in for the free book.
 
Panasonic made the decision to no longer include the awesome books. Barry posted a thread about this a while back. I am disappointed as well. Bad move on Panasonic's part.

Nope, I looked for this card but apparently the book no longer comes with it... Sad.
 
As others have said, yes, Panasonic USA has discontinued including books (and coupons) in the box.

As a temporary measure to address the situation, and coinciding with the 10th year anniversary of DVXUser, I've put a 35% off promotional coupon on my amazon store. Any of my books (or the AF100 DVD) are 35% off when you use coupon code "10YEARSA" at my amazon store.

Sorry this has happened, but it's a decision I have no control over and do not agree with, and can't do anything about, so the coupon code is my way of easing the transition and doing what I can.
 
I received my AC90 in November 2013 from B&H and it did have the book. There must be a batch of stock that still has the book. I feel lucky as it's a great resource.
 
I hope Barry still sees this thread because I wanted to know if his book discount is still available.
 
Barry, I just received my new AG-AC90P and want a copy of your book. There was an earlier post from someone at Panasonic who indicated she's "fix" someone's not receiving the book if she received an email to her private email box here. I did so and didn't receive a reply.

Are you still offering a discount?

This is quite generous Mr Green. A lot of people will appreciate the price reduction.
My copy of the book was included with the camera and I can say that it has been very useful. Buy the book, it supplements the user guide superbly.
 
I got my book from Mr. Green recently. It was very helpful. I have used cameras a lot but it is always nice to get a refresher course on "Digital Camcorder Basics 101." The book is well written and I will probably refer to it often.
 
If you want to fully understand the Panasonic scene files, Barry's book is essential. I have both books for the AF100 and the AC160. They are not just guides on how things work but I found them lifting my understanding of the relationships and interaction between the various settings- Priceless fo me! I know of no other publication that gives this info- I paid full price and consider them both a bargain.
