A little Go35pro test

Here's a short test video about my friend dancing on the roof. Don't mind the content, it's finnish and maybe a bit too crazy for someone - sorry about that. Still haven't modified my adapter and that's why you can see the little vignetting. It was shot with a 35mm f2.0 Nikon lens, no CC.

haha, looks good...didn't understand the egg part, but I thought it was funny nonetheless! Maybe you could give us a translation of what your buddy was saying.

Again, can't believe it looks THAT clean in HDV. It's funny because my stuff at SD sometimes looks a bit grainy but HDV can look that clean.

Give us some stuff at f2.8!

And about that egg, don't worry, I didn't really understand it either. Those Dota players are a bunch of weird peeople :D

Mtech, I could try to slow it down to f2.8 next time.

Hiro, check out this site: www.go-35.com

Here's a pic of my current setup with a 18-200mm Sigma :D

haha, he ate a raw egg. is that dude still making this adapter, id be interested in trying one out.

yes he does. PM me, i can give you some more "info".

badlaa, you can use the full zoom range on that 18-200mm sigma? I've only seen people use fixed non zooming lenses on 35mm adapters?
If you can use zoom lenses on one I might actually be interested!
Also what mount is that lens and you're adapter? I know nothing about this adapter stuff and I'm trying to learn what's best on a budget, so sorry for all the questions.

ecking: yes it's possible to use the whole zoom range but that Sigma lens is just too slow to use without serious lighting. Fast zoom lenses are also much more expensive to manufacture and they are much more liable for CA and barrel distortion. So that's why you see people using fast prime lenses. I'm using a Nikon F mount so in practise every Nikon lens fits on it.

Note that the footage was shot with a Nikkor 35mm F2.0, not with the Sigma.

Thanks that clairifies a lot for me. I wanted to know because I'm looking beginning to look around for an adapter and I wasn't sure if I could use the lens that comes with a Nikon D40 in the mean time while I build up a proper lens kit.

Sounds like I can but it'd wouldn't be great, that's good enough for me!

Thanks for sharing, badlaa. It provoked a few laughs, and for a static adapter was better than I thought it'd be, but you can still see the glass.

btw, that guy stole my dance moves! But he did have this one original:

How did he get up from that?

Haha :D Quess he's made of rubber. And yes, I have to update to a moving solution, probably the sgpro.

The guy actually died on that shot so I think we should all have a minute of silence. He gave his life for his art. Not many people know about it but "lethal dancing" is a highly respected sport here in europe...be on the lookout on the next Olympics.

rawfa: that's sad because I really liked the movie, the quy was so sympathetic.

I think I'll have xha1 + sgpro footage coming during the next two months.
