A GH13 Project from Start to Finish

extremely professional. i see no difference between this footage and what i see on discovery channel using 'professional' broadcast cams etc

During the interviews, we used two GH13's simultaneously. I use a Tascam HD-P2 for sound. Plural Eyes is great for syncing sound in post.

I used the 14-150mm lens for the Medium Shots. The 7-14mm for the crane shots. For the Close Ups, I'm using an old stand-by: the Nikon 105mm f/2.5.

I'm sold on the micro 4/3 format. It is truly the sweet spot in the format "wars". A full frame 35mm doesn't make sense from an aesthetic or engineering point of view. If you need the shallow focus. It's there. If you need a compact, run and gun format, you got it. If you need to throw the camera (even the AF100) on a crane or a steadicam PILOT, you're good to go...

Then there's the glass. If you can't afford a PL mount solution, you can start with used Canon, Nikon or better yet Contax. And when you're ready, you'll have primes optimized for micro 4/3 by next year: e.g. Lumix/Leica, Voigtlander, etc.

The GH13 has provided us a remarkable short term "workaround" to achieve professional results. The AF100 will be that much better and, in my opinion, will become the camera of choice for the indie filmmaker (i.e. shooting the festival-winning feature).

My 2¢ for what's worth...

I guess you meant 14-140, or is it the 14-150 4/3 or olympus?
Anyway amazing work 10/10

I agree with the poster that it looks like something from discovery networks,
did you shoot everything 1080p24? what settings of the hack?

C-settings... 24P not checked... In post used Compressor to extract the 24P from the wrapper... Edited in ProRes 422.

What were you on when you did the boat work?

Whole piece comes off very well.

Was on second boat for some and at the bow of the picture boat to shoot close ups of sea lions... Used an improvised jib arm...

Thanks guys,
Bruce
