2018 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film - well deserved IMHO. I loved this movie. It is so refreshing to see things actually well done - for example music, which usually is quite poor, is excellent here, beautifully shot, well acted, a lovely story that has layers of subtlety without being preachy. So much good to say about this.

I must say, it is one of the best films I've seen in a long, long time. And infinitely superior (IMHO) to the forced rubbish of The Shape of Water. What a contrast. It's a kind of master class in good filmmaking.

One of the curses of living out of the main TV/movie markets... I'm trying to find a way to see it, but it's probably not going to screen around here. Which is a shame. I may not see it until I can lay my hands on a disc. Sigh....

Films like this often don't have a very wide release anyway - I saw it at the Laemmle in Santa Monica, but there's only a couple of places you can see it in the whole LA county, so it's not easy even here. But if you get a chance, grab it for sure - I highly recommend it.
