Hello everybody,

This is our first attempt at using the Canon 7D. We had never used the Canon 5D or any other DSLR that shoots video so we were blown away by how fast we got great results. Enjoy.

Great work. Would also like to know if the Zoom was plugged into the soundboard.

Wonderful. But I have to admit, I'm perplexed how you were able to get different perspectives with one camera. You mentioned chopping up the song, but that doesn't quite explain it for me. Did he sing the same chorus or verse a couple of times and we only saw one, and you cut in parts from the second, by which time you'd moved the camera? I'm confused even just asking that question. Please explain, I need to learn.

Wonderful video guys. Im guessing the band played this song for 10 min, because you got tons of great shots, and focus pulls. I have done plenty of music videos, so I know that editing a live song can be pretty hard, but its possible to make stuff look in-sync even if its a different performance of the same song.

That was very well shot and put together. I hope that the band really liked it.

Try lowering the contrast in the camera and see if you like the results better. :)

Thanks for the comments. The zoom h4n was placed on a shelf above the crowd...even with the height of the speakers...and we just receorded using the x/y mics that make it look like a ghostbusters gadget. We did a test with one song. Went outside, listened on headphones, and then adjusted the levels. Then, we put it on the shelf, pressed record, and let it run all night. We were definitely blown away by the results.

The edit was primarily footage from one 6 min version of 'No Woman, No Cry'...just cleverly recut...and most stuff syncs decently. We filmed two other songs and used some stuff from those as well.

The 7D is definitely a game changer. There is lots of jello, but as you can see here..it can be mostly avoided...even handheld by someone that has had a few too many drinks :)

Nice work. Looks pretty clean overall. Do you happen to remember what ISO you used?

For the singer it was around 500iso, his hands on the drum were 200iso, the other ban members were around 1250iso, and the crowd was 6400iso.
