My new tripod and fluid head came yesterday, so I was playing around with it some. My friend drove by a few times with his car, and we caught this, and it just was too cool not to share.

VIDEO: is Quicktime mpeg4, 5.56MB

Get it here

Here's a screengrab:

Props if you know why he calls her Beatrix.

Pretty much default settings; I haven't messed with the camera much.

24pa, white ballanced to a warm2 card.

Here's a non CC version of the above image:

Oh I forgot to answer that last itme, sorry.

I used Vegas for editing and doing the color correction, I just tweaked the highlights to make the greens pop and crushed the blacks a bit using levels.

Slow motion is nothing special, it's the "choppy" slo mo; I just extended the clip on the time line (in Vegas) so that it'd play longer. It just "holds" each frame to compensate for the new length, there's no interlopation.

Wow. Taking me back to high school. Had three friends with Fieros. None were Formulas, though. But on the plus side, none of them blew up, either. Now show me a video of your friend doing the Chevy small block conversion. :)

Silver, no prize, sorry. :D

Jason:

I used to drive a 3000GT, but the tranny went out and I couldn't afford a new one. My friend wanted me to get a Fiero too, but I decided to go with a sedan that someone offered to give me so I'd have more money to go toward my camera and equipment. And I can actually haul stuff. Tranny is going out on that too.... Rar.

My friend wants to do a conversion later; he's broke now. He's talking about doing a slightly smaller engine though, can't remember which one. The small block is great powerwise, but still a bit heavy on the chassis, he wants a more even power - handling combo.

I should get a pickup....I hate them, but it'd come in handy.

Because she is yellow and black which is the same colors that Uma Thurman wore in Kill Bill and that was her name.

lol its also yellow like the *ahem* pussy wagon.

I'm planning on selling my car and getting a truck too. of course just because of film equipment.

Looks great! What fluid head did you get? I ordered my 503 today!
Same, I bought the 503. It's great, but the instruction manual was a bit lacking. Not sure what the dials do...

**** i liked it,good chase sceneish stuff. Not to nit pick and ****,but when the car hit that first left,it was outta frame too long before you cut to the next action-that slowed the continuity and intensity and felling of speed.Good **** though.

Hey Virum, I loved the video as well as the music. Can you please tell me what band this is? I need to listen to more songs like that. it's awesome! Strings and rock! woohoo!
