7Q monitor calibration controls

What format is the Blu-Ray player outputting? Does the Odyssey7Q see it at all? HDMI requires a "handshake" between the devices and if they don't initial see one another then you can try to replug the connection on the Odyssey, or try doing a RESET in the * menu. Make sure you are in one of the Monitor->Record modes for an HD signal, such as CAMERA set to OTHER and Monitor->Record set to HD->HD ProRes.
 
tried resetting to factory defaults, and the other recomendations with no image. the record touch button IS red and the input is reading 1080p 29f. but doesnt show the image
 
One last thought. Some of these Blu-Ray players have output setting that allow them to send out either 24p or 24p spread over 29.97p. If you adjust this output setting and then try my previous suggestions it may help.

This is why I hate HDMI so much! The stories about interconnectivity issues are legion.
 
k, any other ways to get big solid grayscale ramp test patterns from 0-100% in 10 percent incremints, and color patterns? does the usb input on the odyssey show jpegs from a usb stick?
 
my laptop has hdmi and im able to use the odyssey as a second display, im gonna download some spectracal test data test patterns
 
Hi Everyone,

I found my calman license and finally got everything setup properly for calibration. Here are the before and after calibration pictures. I lowered the red and green to boost up the reds in the grayscale and it helped alot. Thanks CD for giving us the ability to get dial in a better image on this amazing OLED screen!!! can we get some rgb controls between 0%-50% gain , cuts , or bias and some better color controls to dial in cyan and magenta better?

Hey again, i'm back after the 2016.06 update... as suggested by CD's update instructions, i did a factory reset - which also reset my oled controls. I thought i open this thread, type in the numbers i had before, done. The weird thing is though, that the contrastvalue doesn't apply anymore... did anyone find the same?
