7D w. Zeiss Primes - Exposure is off

Anyone have this problem? I'm using Zeiss Still Primes (F Mount) with a Fotodiox adapter on my 7D. The exposure reading is completely off. When the camera is telling me the shot is exposed, it's completely underexposed.

The F mount Zeiss primes have a manual aperture ring. The Zeiss EF mount lenses control the aperture through the camera and are supposed to transmit the data back to the camera, but I don't want to buy the EF mount. I like manual aperture. I'm wondering if this same problem is happening with the CP.2's? They're manual aperture.

Exposure reading? This might sound crazy but maybe you should let your eyes + excellent lcd quality of the camera to see exactly how it looks.

I am using the LCD and a Marshall 7" LCD Monitor. I just want to know why the exposure reading is completely out of whack.

Change aperture back and forth a few times (this fixes the same issue on 550D, with manual unchipped lenses).

Are you shooting stills? I had incorrect exposure on my 7D with a Nikkor 50mm f1.4, but with a 105mm f/2.0 it was fine. With video, should be able to eyeball it using Live View.
