7d only autofocuses when in Live View

Hey all,

I'm not sure if my 7d camera body is in need of repair or if I'm simply overlooking something.

While shooting in M, my autofocus only works when I have Live View activated. Once I switch back to the viewfinder, autofocus ceases to operate at all. I've cleared all camera settings, tried swapping batteries and cards, and have been scouring the menus looking for an answer. Google came up short.

Any ideas what this might be?

Maybe reverting back to default settings will correct it without having to know exactly what caused it.
