7D not keeping settings after power down

so i shot all last week on my 7D, everything was fine. i flew back from that gig thursday night and charged up my batteries on friday. went to a shoot yesterday and after every power down and back up the camera wouldn't remember its settings. kept reverting to 1/30th f10 100iso and video at 1080 24.

i've tried googling but i can't find anything. also, i've checked my internal battery and it appears to be still OK(time and date stay correct)

any ideas?
 
yes, you are correct, but somehow my rotary dial has gotten messed up. i have it on M, but i think its on a custom dial, i move it to a custom mode and i get an error, i move it to Tv and its on manual... i had sent it in to canon 2 weeks ago, guess she's going back. thanks!
