7D Mark II?

It's very unlikely that a 7D2 would have anything other that the same sensor size as now - because to change it would mean losing AF-S lens compatibility.

The 7D won't be replaced for some time to come, and while we all have shopping lists for features, either those we'd like to see fixed (i.e. audio) or new features (such as zebras as just one example), I think we will see the 5D3 first, and that will give us a much better idea of what is to follow.

Canon really needs to update their DSLRs to compete with Panasonic's GH2, which has definitely taken the lead in DSL video niche. I've heard that the 5D3 is rumored to appear fairly soon in 2011.

Many people keep saying how the video thing is just a small niche and Canon couldn't care less; but it's a very high profile one. I work in TV in LA and Canon's are used on some big projects. My friend just AC'd on several episodes of CSI, and a number of scenes were shot with the 7D. House on FOX uses the 5D. This is GREAT exposure for Canon, and I doubt they will want to lose that to Panasonic, so I'm sure something will come fairly soon. They are just so tight lipped about everything, and it drives me crazy.

I know they need to fix the Moire in the 2nd generation DSLR, or else it will be all over since Canon would lose all credibility. The 60D was a huge disappointment in that none of the core problems were fixed.

If the 5D Mark III is full-frame, and has the sensitivity of a 1D Mark IV with a new Digic V processor...I'm buying two of them!! :P

Patience! I have no inside knowledge, but I think Canon knows what's up. I was watching the Discovery channel the other day and along came a Canon commercial specifically on the 5D2 and specifically highlighting the video feature being used on a fictional movie set. It's kinda rare to see a TV commercial for a high end DSLR. It's just a matter of time guys that video gets improved. Photo companies leapfrog each other all the time so I wouldn't worry too much about who has the lead at the time. I'm sticking with Canon for the lenses.

I saw that commercial the other day, too! Made me smile.

As for a 7DII, like others have said, the 5DII came out a year before the 7D, and it was more or less the pioneer of the HDSLR industry, so I would imagine it would be updated before anything else.
