Hey,
For my Canon 7D, does anyone know why my left channel's noise floor is higher with a cable in the mic jack?
I downloaded latest 7D firmware, used Manual Audio Gain, and then if i plug in a 1/4" stereo cable into the mic jack, I naturally get a higher noise floor on the left channel. Right channel is fine. Whether I plug in a beachtek cable, my headphone cable, whatever 1/4" cable, I'll get the same result. When it's unplugged, the meters are totally fine coming from the on-board mic.
I know it's not a faulty jack, because my other friend with his 7D also confirmed the same finding.
Anyone else have this and know why it happens?
Thanks
Erik
