Anyone running external power on their rigs? I do a lot of run and gun work, so I'm almost exclusively filming with my shoulder mount rig. Swapping out batteries is a constant pain because, I MUST leave my camera on at all times (not necessarily filming). My rig setup right now is very front heavy, and started doing some research on some other power options. And figured I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
-Ease my powering headache with a bigger, longer lasting external power source
-Use external powering components as a counter balance on the back of my shoulder mount rig.
I'm still looking for a battery plate/bracket that'll allow me mount the battery onto my shoulder rig (15mm rods, 60mm spacing)... I've never used or seen the IDX batteries in person - is there a power tap on it that'll allow me to connect to the cannon DR-E6 coupler, or do I need an adapter for that?
Early apologies for my newbness...
Here are some products I was looking at, and let me know what you guys think...
