7D "BUSY" signal

I was testing my new 7D today when all of a sudden around the 12 min mark the camera froze and flashed a "Busy" signal. This lasted for about 5 min, and I finally just opened the battery door and the camera shut off. The clip that the camera froze on is not on the card at all. Has anyone seen this happen before? I am using very fast SanDisk Extreme 16gb/ 60MB/s cards.

I had that with a SanDisk card as well. I'm actually using a cheaper Transcend 32gb, and have never gotten it with that.

Thanks for the reply. Was it a reoccurring problem? What was the shooting situation when it happened? Which SanDisk cards were you using? I had been running the camera for a while testing the card for issues like this. The battery was at one bar. Not sure what cards to go with at this point.

Sorry, I can't remember the exact card model. But it was the 16gb card. I actually shot in GREAT conditions, if not a little warm. I mostly shot in a studio with lighting, and the camera did get warm because of the lights, but that's about the extent of it. It was a re-occuring problem, but it wasn't constant. It'd work for 2-3 days fine without any data errors, then another day, it'll corrupt one of my larger video files. It was a headache, I've been shooting with my transcend card for 5 months now, and never had any data loss/corruption issues yet.

If you were recording at 1080p, you ran up against the 4GB maximum file size.

5.5MB/sec (1080p) x 12 min x 60 sec = 3960MB = approx 4GB

Its fine he reached the limit the problem is it never ended recording and saved the clip. I shoot to the twelve minute mark all the time without a problem. Looking to see if this is a Problem with the Ultra batch he just bought from.
