7D Batteries

I've got something similar, if not the exact same thing. I use it as a second battery, only use it while the other recharges and it's fine. I (and you, if you haven't) really need to pick up something a little more legitimate though for more serious work, here's the flaws of mine (and I suspect yours):

-It doesn't work in the original charger. The ones that say they do are either lying or are somehow different from mine (each equally possible). That's not SUCH a big deal, because it does come with an extra charger, so I just keep all the batteries/chargers in the same place. Also, the original canon battery DOES work in the 3rd party charger.
-It can't communicate with the camera, meaning I can't tell how much battery life is left. This is why it's only good as a secondary battery-- I have no idea when the thing's going to just shut off. I haven't done any real tests with it, but I suspect it lasts far less time than the original as well.

Good news is, these days you can find some pretty legitimate ones (with better chargers and that can communicate with the camera) for about the same price. I'd look into those instead.

All that said, if you've got an extra twenty bucks, it doesn't hurt to have one or two of these around just in case. I wouldn't get 6 of them though, they're just too iffy to rely on.

The first and third link will or should work with the Canon charger. For something even cheaper try eBay, they have tons of 'chipped' third party batteries. The only original Canon batts I own are the two I got when I bought my 7D & 60D... all 8 others I own are third party... the High Capacity ones last longer than the Canon brand and have been going strong for about 2yrs.
