7D Availability News (POST ANY AND ALL UPDATES HERE ONLY)

Still no shipping confirmation from J&R. I was told the line about credit review when I called yesterday, which seems a little suspect to me.

I'm going to call again in a little while.
 
J&R Update:
I just called again and they said to call back in 2 hours to give the billing dept. more time...

I feel like I'm getting the runaround.
 
I got a shipping confirmation email from B&H this morning at 10:15am (EST), pre-ordered on 9/27 (web)!

My order with J&R hasn't been billed either (placed around midnight PST the day they got them in stock on the site), but I did have to change my credit card the next day because I couldn't get the one I wanted to use go through online the night before. I don't have much hope of receiving one anymore.

edit - Well, apparently the card got changed but all they can tell me is the order is still processing...

and 2nd...any word from the Adorama crystal ball on when they will get the 7D with the kit lens in stock?

If previous Canon releases are any guide, I guess we could hope to expect our next shipment within the next two weeks.

However, we have no notification at all from Canon as yet.

I got mine today from Service Photo, unfortunately I don't have a lens yet, it is torture having the camera without a lens.
 
J&R is shipping my 7d...I think.
They sent me an email saying the 7d is shipped and another saying the $30 gift certificate they promised is backordered. Wtf? How can a gift certificate be backordered? These are strange times.
 
TigerDirect update -- I just called, they said they got 400 in, and have started shipping out pre-orders. They said they had a total of 100 pre-orders. So that should mean all of us who ordered through TigerDirect should see shipping notices today and tomorrow...

... and that should also mean that TigerDirect has 300 Canon 7Ds in stock!

I called about an hour ago, and the rep told me they had 400 in, and they would start shipping "tommorow or monday"

My order status hasnt changed yet, I ordered at 4:16p eastern time Sept 1st.

I want it SO BAD.

Barry, do you have an Item No. that you could share? I just called and the rep said they didn't have any. I'd sure like to get in on this!
 
J&R upgraded my order for free to overnight and just shipped.

All's well that ends well, but I figured that calling probably helped.

Probably not, because I put my fate in the hands of the gods and you and I had the same experience.

I've dealt with J&R in the past and I cannot complain.
 
I just spoke to TigerDirect and they would not confirm that they actually had any in and would only offer to take a back order from me. He did say 'It seems likely that your order might be shipped tomorrow or Monday'... but he would not admit they had received any that were actually available and not obligated to preorders. I didn't place an order and I have decided I may just wait for my local shop here, of which I am now number 1 on the list... I was number 7, but they got 6 in Monday... lol...
