7D Availability News (POST ANY AND ALL UPDATES HERE ONLY)

For any of you euros out there. I got a call from Calumet Berlin today letting me know that they received their shipment of 7Ds.

:) I got a little excited and almost decided to take the train over and pick it up myself (I live about 300km away), but took a deep breath and decided to just let them ship it to me, should have it in a couple of days.
 
the demand this thing seems to have, someone coulda made a lot of money buying up a bunch of these and selling them on ebay like they did with the ps3 or whatever :)

J&R had 30 left as of an hout ago... Canceled my amazon order and ordered from them....Will have tomorrow...
 
Well, that's good news for you but bad news for me. I too ordered at 8am 9/1 but I ordered the kit and have heard nothing. ;-(
 
I canceled my kit order due to not knowing anything about when it will come, I ordered body only and a Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 lens instead, probably a better choice for lens anyway.
 
Just ordered one from J&R. Victor at x1074 was very helpful.

$1,949.97 got me the 7D body, extra Canon battery, 8GB Sandisk Extreme IV card, and overnight shipping.
 
J&D reps are nice.

I bought a 16 gig 30 meg/sec scad disk card, will that handle video? I thought the data rate is 40plus.

7D:
47 megabits per second
5.9 megabytes per second

Most if not all CF cards are rated in megabytes. The 7D really just needs at least 10MB/s. A Canon rep and Stu M. also believe it also needs UDMA cards for optimal performance.

If I had a dollar for every time I've mixed those two up I'd be shooting with F23.
 
Just a heads up.
Be aware there is a big jewish holiday coming up that starts this friday. B&H will be closed all next week. And I would assume Adorama and J&R would too. Sorry if I am alarming anyone but I figure its better to know and plan accordingly. (Found this out when I went to B&H this morning to get bulbs.)
