I just ordered mine from JR. 2nd Day Air gets it here Friday (Arkansas).

He said he had a list of about 100 orders already, but they had room and had not run out (yet).

I am excited! I won't be the first one to get the 7D, but that outta keep me humble. :) PUMPED!
 
good idea for this availability thread. The whole 7d section was looking to be all about where to get these things. Luckily this forum pointed me to a place where I was able to place an order but it will be nice for others to have one location to check for availability updates.
 
Dang, I ordered mine from Texas today, but have to go to J&R tomorrow for some other stuff anyway. Could have just nabbed one up there! It's RAINING 7Ds!!!!!

If you have no reason (other than pure wanting) to get the body RIGHT NOW, then I would wait.

I had a kit on preorder and switched to body only bc of shoots I have coming up in less than a week - but if I had the time I'd have waited for my kit lens to come in.

Well, that is unless you have some Canon glass laying around.
I didn't, so I had to spend some extra money to get a lens seperately.
 
Glad you are on top of this Luis, too many availability threads.

Didn't someone post a while back that a canon rep had said 'the 7D will be scarce...' ??????

Got mine today. Preordered 2 weeks ago with my local shop - National Camera Exchange in Minneapolis. No word on if they have extras but got a call this afternoon that it was in, and picked it up tonight. Slaving like an animal editing tonight so hasnt even been unboxed yet!
 
Is it confirmed that all the ones shipped are bodies (as usual)? Or are people getting confirmation for their kits too?
 
SO I just cancelled my order from Amazon and saw that J&R allowed one to place an order.

I wonder though if the system knows how many are available as people order. I just ordered it at 12:00 A.M. I hope tomorrow morning I do not get an email saying that I my order is backordered..I would be pissed. I did get a confirmation email saying that I bought it...

Is J&R a good company to deal with?

huh? what does this mean...I have a feeling that I just screwed myself hard!
 
I really like J&R. I've ordered from them before an they seem LEGIT. They are big and have been around for a while, so there ya go. :D

I spoke with a rep on the phone to place my order. I made him pinky promise that they would ship in the morning. He said, "oh yeah, you'll have it Friday". So, there ya go :D

Action Camera in Sacramento had three more in stock when I picked up mine. Every other place in the area is out.

If you're in the sac area call and put one on hold. I don't know if they ship, but they are very friendly and even have a demo with the 18-135 lens to play with.
