7D and which glidecam?

weigh how much your rig is with an assortment of lenses and gear, then get a glidecam that works in that range. Dont go lighter or youll just be wasting money.

That's sound advice, thanks.

I'd be using just the 7D with a kit lens 18mm-55mm - has anyone used the glidecam 1000 with this kind of setup?

i have the glidecam v8 for sale. holds up to 15lbs. works great. if your interested . pics up at hdimages.ca

glide cam 4000

glide cam 4000

Hey I had the glide cam 4000 for my XHA1. Now I'm using it with the 7D and a 24-70mm lens. It works great... although a bit harder to make steady than the XHA1. You can see an example of the video my set up produces here if you have a second :http://vimeo.com/7686750
hope this helps.

I also have the HD4000, with about 1 to 2 weights on and a quick release plate up top to make it slightly heavier.

I used the glidecam 2000 pro with a Tamron 17-50 and it seems to be a good size. Never tried the 1000 but with a shorter glidecam I guess you will have to add more weight to set the center of gravity so it might become too heavy and difficult to handle, and the 2000 works but it is already enough of a challenge (like all these devices as far as I know)
