7D and Blackmagic card or other raw uncompressed Hdmi capture

I read a few topic about capturing threw Hdmi but no one directly saying if captures before being compressed to .264 . I will be doing nothing but chroma keying with the 7d and want to know if I should order my Blackmagic card this week also when I get my 7D. I assume if it captures before being compressed then for keying it should better than the .264.. If it captures Hdmi in 720p uncompresssed it will be fine for me.

Can anyone can varify this for me? Should I will also get a Black magic card thanks guys.

We're certain that the video signal sent through HDMI while recording is before any H.264 encoding. If that wasn't the case, then the camera would have to encode H.264, then decode H.264 at the same time, and then send it through HDMI. Obviously, that's almost impossible.

Anyone here disagree?
