7D 60p quality issues

So i need some help for my friends 7D footage. Ive got a stock pile of 60p that at 100% in FCP looks banger but at 50% it looks real soft and shitty. Anybody have this happen before? Know how to fix it? Need help asap

Do you mean 50% speed or 50% scale?

If you're talking about speed, what timline are you editing on? If it's a 24p timline you should be playing it back at 40%.

Also try rendering it and see if it looks better afterwards.

Also, try re-interpreting the footage before you bring it into FCP. Duplicate it first, then open one version up in Cinema Tools and change the framerate to whatever your project framerate is. Now when you import it into your project and drop it on the timline it will automatically be in slow motion (and the duplicated version will play at full speed).

To get smooth slow motion at 50% turn off frame blending, and make sure you render, then it should look fine.

turn off frame blending. Use cinema tools. But it could also be how you shot it. here's an article explaining shooting slow mo.
