7D +5D + Glidecam + Skating = Pretty Smooth Video

Very awesome (my brother used to roll and work for Aggressive Mall in Sunnyvale).

So often overlooked, but investing $500 in other pieces of equipment like a Glidecam, dolly, or Kessler crane can have dramatically more impact than an expensive lens that is an f/stop or two faster.

Is most of this 5d or 7d? I can't really tell them apart [which is a good thing as I want the 7d I guess!] care to point it out?

I shot it all with one lens. The canon 16-35mm L series lens. Ed whats your brother name? I've been sponsored by them years..

Omg, I feel so lame, I didn't even pay attention to your profile name. Vinny Minton! I remember watching your sections in a couple videos my brother showed me a long time ago. Sick skills, bro (I've been out of the skating game since for YEARS).

My brother is Tim Kahana. He actually just got back from Iraq. He was there as a Marine reservist.

I am thinking about getting the glidecam but not sure if I should get the hd2000 or the hd4000

I feel i might put a monitor on there?

do you feel the hd2000 is the way to go?

how do you monitor the footage while you are shooting in the bright daylight on the glidecam...just looking off the lcd???? If so isn't that hard to read?

I've seen people with glidecam footage before, and this beats most of them hands down. I think 90% of why this looks nice is the operators skills and his ability to skate and shoot at the same time. Good job--how long have you been doing this? Skating, shooting?

Only sad thing is you got people's hopes up thinking they can achieve the same thing by simply buying a glidecam.

My first time testing out the glidecam and skates was on halloween of last year.. here is my first edit testing the combo out..

Yes for the most part.. I just use the lcd for framing.. and trail and error. When I first got my 2000hd I put an external monitor on it and it work out pretty good. I just choose not to use it any more because I shoot a lot of weddings and I need my sled to be ready to go on the fly. With a extra monitor it may take a bit more time to adjust.
