7D, 33fps

Hi there - I kind of half know the answer to this but I'm interested in people's thoughts. I'm shooting a music video on the 7D and we'd like to get achieve the dreamlike offspeed feel that 33fps (or thereabouts gives). If I shoot at 50p, then it would be relatively easy for me to, effectively, speed that up to 33fps or so. I know I can go back to real time 25fps cleanly and easily with 50 fps footage. But I'm just wondering if it could get a little messy given that 50 and 33 don't divide cleanly like 50 and 25 do. I'd like to be able to achieve this within Avid or Final Cut. I could pull a Flame favour, but it would be a big favour.

Cheers

James

you can shoot 1080p30 and conform it to 1080p25 or 1080p24, which will give you that dreamy feel, without the much bigger aliasing-moire of 720p, and without the headaches of having to interpolate frames, which I believe was part of your plan as stated up there

as an example, in this video I shot at 1080p30, then conformed to 1080p24 and edited (then rendered to 720p24 at low mbps to meet vimeo's free 500MB limit)
