7D 1080 24 to SD 60i?

So I hope this hasn't bee asked before and I tried to search to no avail.

If I wanted the 7D 24fps to go to standard def 60i can I do it using Sony Vegas?
I mainly shoot television commercials and we're still broadcasting most of them standard def 60i.

Currently I own the GH1 but the 7D has me thinking of upgrading.

I believe you can yes. Set the project to how you would normally, and just import the footage. If you get frame ghosting (I'm not sure if Vegas will automatically detect 24fps and add a pulldown) make sure that the clips have resampling disabled, and you should be good to go.
