Hi, my name is Luis Ortiz. I´m about to shoot my thesis film in bolivia. I bought and HVX200 and a Macbook Pro. I have a huge problem that i can´t seem to fix. Everytime i try to import 720 or 1080 footage it says ¨clips might be corrupted or incomplete¨. However, the footage is fine. I can playback it anytime and watch it. When I import 480 with the same process of File.Import.Panasonic P2 it imports it with no problem.. The problems is when I try to capture 720 or 1080.

I´ll aprecciate any help because i´m about to shoot and I don´t want to end up using tape.
thank you

Even with FCP 5.1.1 imports of P2 media occasionally report the error - usually over the USB2 and P2 Store. Sometimes the clip does not import at all. But simply re-importing seems to do the trick. I've no idea why that happens but I've yet to lose any footage at all. I don't think I've ever had a problem importing direct from the camera, so if you can that's the best way - it's the fastest as well.

It's because the Mac just doesn't have 100% proper integration yet, somewhere along the line. It's like 97%.

One thing that causes the error repeatedly is if you're trying to import a clip that's been repaired in-camera. P2 Log, P2 Viewer, the camera itself, EDIUS, Avid, just about anything else can import those clips, but FCP can't.
