720 60p? Works good?

I'm one of those on the fence people trying to choose between the 7D and the GH1.

For me, since I'm going to be using the camera for filming Surfing and B-Roll for Motion Graphics work, the slo-mo is VERY important to me.

I've heard that the 720 60p work pretty well in the GH1. What is the verdict on the 60P for the 7D? I've heard of some complaints about the anti-aliasing. Is this a fact?

Thanks for any help on the matter.

The jury is still out for me on 7D 60p-to-24p. I haven't been over the moon excited with the footage I've shot so far, but as I just got the camera, I still have a lot of learning/work to do. So I'm reserving judgment for now. But this clip has some awesome 7D slow-mo, with little to no aliasing, from my POV…

To see the 60p slow-mo of the GH1 in action, here you go…

Some people are saying that the 60p has an unacceptable amount of aliasing and all in all doesn't look very good. I was starting to get worried until I saw this motocross video. it doesn't look that bad to me. http://vimeo.com/6860546

A few minor issues, but some of that might be the vimeo compression too. Thanks for posting!

Thanks so much for posting the clips. I have a few observations (but wondering if it has more to do with the Vimeo Compression than anything).

Ideally, it would have been nice if both were shot of the same subject matter with the same internet compression. With that said, the Motorcross clip seems to have a bit more banding and artifacts, especially on the backgrounds of the close-up shots. To me, it was fairly noticeable right away.

While the fishing clip seem to be just a bit more crisp and cleaner overall with less artifacting and banding.

Do you guys think this is more of a web compression issue? I'm hoping it has more to do with the web.

With that said, both clips look good overall and THANKS for sharing.

looks like vimeo compression. the motocross video isn't playing in HD on the forum page and the fishing video is. check out the motocross video in HD. slick and clean.

Having shot the fishing stuff, and having downloaded the moto-cross clip, I think they both look really, really nice. If I didn't know which was which, I'd have a hard time sorting them out. Like I said, I feel like I need to spend more time getting to know the various modes and settings on the 7D. But this shows me two things…

One, in the right hands, the 7D 60p-to-24p footage can look spectacular. Two, in my not-so-talented hands, the GH1 is no slouch either.
