70D HDMI out question

When the 70D is hooked up to an HDMI out monitor and you hit record, does the resolution drop to 480 or does it stay at 1080? I know the 60D drops, wasn't sure about the 70D.

Stays at 1080. When you hit record there is no additional handshake that happens or additional adjustment, the red dot just appears.

It is important to note that the image is windowed instead of being full screen

Canon DSLR's that don't drop in resolution via HDMI-out when hitting record are:
T4i, T5i, T6i, T6s, 70D, 6D, 7D Mark II, 5D Mark III (not sure about SL1).

However of the ones listed above, only the 7D Mark II and 5D Mark III can give you a full screen via HDMI.

There are differences between the 7D Mark II and 5D Mark III however:

5D Mark III = [Mode1 = Windowed with Overlays, Mode2 = Clean Full Screen]
7D Mark II = [Mode1 = Full Screen with Overlays, Mode2 = Clean Full Screen]

+1 ecto
As stated above it does indeed stay 1080P. As a 70D owner I really hate the fact it windows the hdmi out. On my glidecam x10/4000 combo using the tiny box off of a 7 inch monitor really does hurt my soul. Its only 2 sizes bigger than than the articulating screen. Losing an inch+ on each side of the uncropped image.
