[FS: General] 7" ON-CAMERA LCD & accessories

7" TFT LCD Monitor. $75. Photos below.

Includes:

  • LCD4Video Color 7" monitor with built in speaker, 12 volt; Interface cable with composite (RCA), single BNC, Audio and Power connection;
  • Sun hood;
  • Hot shoe mount;
  • Remote (don't know if the remote battery's good, never used it);
  • 12 Volt battery in cordura pouch;
  • AC Adapter;
  • Battery Charger;
  • Car cigarette lighter adapter;
  • 4-pin XLR power adapter;
  • I'm including a LONG, heavy-duty composite video cable - it's like 12-18' long, used it on my crane;
  • And a barrel adapter for using longer cables.

WHAT IT IS: Not a DIY job, it's a purpose-built camera monitor that I bought for my crane. I've used it with a DVX (plugs right in) and my D90 and Canon HDSLR cameras (plugs into the factory-supplied audio/video cable that came with the cameras). Just got an HDMI and sold my DVX, hope someone needs this. If your budget is low but you need a screen, this should be great, really saved my life many times.

Inputs switchable between the composite and BNC. Switches between 4x3 and 16x9. Uses the standard RCA plug that's on most video cameras and on your Canon or Nikon DSLR output cables.

The battery seems to have plenty of life; also, the system is 12volt so you could rig up all sorts of common power sources; LCD4Video used to sell panasonic and sony battery plates for it, check their site.

WHAT IT'S NOT: It's not hi-def, HDMI, etc - just a basic monitor for framing when you can't use the viewfinder. I've used it on fig rigs and cranes, and when I bolt my slider to the ceiling for overhead shots.

You can judge exposure with it, but you really need to figure out what viewing angle is the best - I generally set exposure with the camera first - at some angles the screen is brighter than the true exposure. Powered it from my car recently and that worked great as well.

I never used this on the hot shoe, and I ground the shoe connector down a bit so I could "flip" the mount and use it as a male 1/4-20 mount on my crane. It will mount to a camera shoe, but one side is tighter than the other, so the monitor can "pivot" a millimeter or so. I just tested it for the photo and it doesn't seem like it will fall off or anything, you may want to get a more current shoe adapter. The monitor doesn't have a 1/4-20 thread, but it has a sliding plate that does. I was able to get it on all kinds of rigs and superclamp setups easily, but in a shoe-mount situation I just use the camera's LCD with my viewfinder.

I HAVE A BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED MARSHALL SHOE ADAPTER I"LL INCLUDE FOR $15 (they cost $20 new at B&H or Adorama).

Works fine, no dead pixels but selling AS-IS NO RETURNS, no guarantees on battery life, etc. $8 to ship continental US or pick it up in Dallas, TX.

DVXUser's messaging never seems to work - email me directly at michaelcarter (at) sbcglobal (dawt) net.

Bump-ocity - a member messaged me a "sold" and then backed out.

If "Armbruster" is working the marketplace boards, I'd wait for paypal and avoid doing trades.

I said I had interest and asked you questions- so what if I backed out of the deal? I'm the customer and you showed absolutely no respect. And for any reason should I be avoided with trades?

Didn't get an email Joey9;

Armbruster, your question was "I'll buy it, what's your PayPal?". Two days later I had to message you to get a "Sorry, I don't have the money".

Thus I'm not radically concerned regarding your definition of respect... As for trades, I'd want to receive goods from you before shipping something, to avoid a "Sorry, I don't have the item".

These little dustups can be avoided very simply; don't buy if the cash ain't there, and if there's a problem, inform the other party. These boards are usually a good-natured place overall, and the marketplace has been generally free of scams and misunderstandings.
