6D "Beta Footage" up at Cinema 5D

OK, that's definitely true: many other brands have moire too. My NEX-5N has moire. Even the GH2 has moire if you are decided to make it show up. The difference is how easily it pops up: with a T2i, you're constantly fighting against it, the 5D2 is slightly better but not much really; with the 5N and D800 you can basically forget about moire, it can happen, but it will be an accident, not the norm (I own a 5N, I've forgotten about moire, if it happens, it happens, but I no longer restrain myself, and it hardly ever happens); and with the GH2 you'll have to extremely unlucky to get moire in real-world shooting. They all have it, but I wouldn't buy an old-gen Canon again (and that includes the brand-new 6D), because it has more moire than other perfectly good alternatives. For me, right now, it is 5N/GH2 (depending on your personal taste) if you want a normal sensor, 5D3/D800 if you want full frame.

... get a 5D2 for less money

I would agree, though there do seem to be other nice features on the MK3. I'm still shooting my MK2 and will continue to shoot on it for probably at least another 12 to 18 months unless I hit the lottery. There is no DSLR out there (yet) that I consider enough of an upgrade... to upgrade.

I still don't know what you guys are shooting where moire is just ruining your lives. I run into it occasionally, really not very often, and usually a slight softening of focus cures it.

as the 5D3 is softer and the solution of sharpening in post does not look organic to me. If the moire is the same between the mark 2 and the 6D I agree with the buy used comment, and take the $600+ and buy a good lens and that is what I actually just did.

Is it so? Let's take a look:

Sony DSLR's:
Everything moires and aliases badly.

Nikon DSLR:
Moire & aliasing

Panasonic GH3:
Less moire & aliasing. Though slightly more aliasing than the GH2.

So which competition and which pricing? Seems to me that the 5dmarkIII is still one of the best deals out there from the HDSLR cams.

You forgot 5Dmk2 + mosaic AA filter. No aliasing or moire.

After shooting almost every day for 3 years with these canon DSLRs I can only remember moire appearing a few times. It has been a non issue for me. I don't get the obsession either. I see it much more on DVDs of major Hollywood films shot in film and transferred to video.

For camera upgrades, 6D is a dud with what looks like no improvement over the MK2 in a cheaper plastic body with little or no weather sealing. The MK3 is good, but I don't shoot in the dark or plan shoots without lighting. When there is no light I just put the camera away and have a beer. The BMCC is about the only camera substantially new, but I'll wait till they are available before diving in. The 5Dmk2 is still the best bang for the buck these days for the next year. Or of course rent any camera i need for clients expecting to pay for them.
