Hey guys, I'm soon shooting a documentary for five weeks. The Odyssey 7Q is staying at home and I wanted to purchase a handful of new SDHC cards for the occasion as i'll be running a lot of footage. Just wondered thoughts on these Transcend 64gb cards were?

I usually purchased Sandisk Extreme in the past but wouldn't mind saving some money as I plan on buying at least 3 64GB cards. I have only ever used 32GB in my FS700 in the past. I take it 64gb SDXC is compatible?

Cheers!

Paul

Ive used transcend in the past for my Canon G11, and while I realize its not exactly the same grade card which is needed, I just wanted to say that the card has been working for 6 or 7 years and has not slowed the least bit down. And this was not even one of the fastest or most expensive I could get my hands on. So I think quality wise, you won't notice much of a durability difference between Sandisk and Transcend. That being said, I cannot comment on whether the Transcend is as fast as the Sandisk counter-part, though I would assume so.

And yes, as per sony, the FS700 accepts SD/SDHC/SDXC memory.

Might be worth considering the FMU. Personally, I don't consider even the Sandisk extreme SD Cards as professional media, having had 2 fail on me in the past.

SD cards are always a kind of lottery. I have a bunch of 16GB class 10 Transcend in various devices without a fail but had one SanDisk 64GB PRO with broken plastic. For five weeks I'd consider also the FMU or even a Samurai Blade. If you're done you can sell it with a small loss which should cover your feeling of being on the safe side

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I'm sure the Transcend SDHC cards with suffice. I'll be doing DIT every night and checking playback throughout the day so fingers crossed it runs fine!
