64 gb P2 Card

What are the "cheaper and as stable alternatives out in the market" for p2 cards?

I can't find any.

oh i had the impression that there where other mediums pro's are using also.. err guess i was wrong.

I don't understand why people seem to think $900 is fine for a 16GB P2 card (and many people have more than one), and $1600 is ok for a 32, but $2600 is outrageous for a 64.

Here's the math:

-Four 16s (64 GB) would cost you $3600...
-Two 32s (64 GB) would cost you $3200...
-One 64 (64 GB) would cost you $2600...

What's not to like?
well one thing personally I dont like is paying 2600 for 64gb of memory. But hey.. thats just me.. :P

I think that people feel that the price on the 16 gig should be more like 500 bucks... I know that I'd be cool with that. As Barry has stated, this is the sweetspot.

I've used the 32 gig cards and they take just forever to back-up. The 16 gig cards are a lot easier and give a good amount of run-time in PN mode.

I personally like the 32 GB.
It takes a bit of time to load but the 80+ minutes in 24pn is for me, a documentarian, hits the sweetspot.
A good price for one of those will be $1,000.
But, you can't always get what you want...

my clients want to shoot true 1080i so the sweet spot is with the 64 gig card with 64 mins... but I honestly think the 128 gig cards will be the way to go.. shoot all day without having to stop and offload to a computer... but yeah $1000/card would be an ideal price for the top model..
